What is 360 video?

Last Updated: Apr 05, 2017 11:50AM PDT

Live 360 video on Periscope allows a broadcaster to go live and share their entire surrounding environment, making the broadcast as immersive as possible for viewers.

Live 360 videos are marked with a 'Live 360' badge. When you see a 360 broadcast on Periscope or Twitter, you can change the point of view by moving your phone or tapping and scrolling around the screen – all while watching live.

As a broadcaster, 360 video allows you to spend less time and energy on framing your shot so you can focus on adding new dimension to your viewers' experience. In 360 broadcasts, viewers will be able to look anywhere while also having the broadcaster present to anchor the broadcast.

360 broadcasting is supported on iOS (and Android via Periscope Producer only). Broadcasting with the Insta360 Nano is natively integrated with Periscope on iOS; just attach the camera and go live. To go live in 360 with Periscope Producer, you can use the Ricoh Theta S or the Orah 4i

Please note that you will need an updated version of the iOS app to broadcast in 360. You can also watch 360 video on Android and all web browsers except for Safari.
