Chat allows you to comment on live broadcasts. It’s an essential part of the Periscope experience because it’s a way for viewers and broadcasters to engage with one another. 

To chat, tap on the Say something... prompt on the bottom of the screen, then type your comment and tap the arrow button to send it.

To reply to another viewer’s comment in a live broadcast, tap on their comment, select Reply, type your reply, and tap the arrow button to send it.

While watching a live or replay broadcast on iOS, you can scroll back to read and engage with earlier comments that have disappeared from view. To scroll back to earlier comments, tap over comments and swipe down. Scrollable chat on Android is coming soon!

If you encounter abusive comments during a broadcast, you can report them using comment moderation.
